Substances in the surrounding........Topic is good, chapter is very well explained and activities given are also well elaborated..lets start with it...
For facts is this okay? - When a substance changes from one state to another the process is called change of state of the substance. terms-Thermometer, temperature, boiling.
Brief summary- A substance must be present in either solid or liquid or gaseous form. A Substance can exist only within any one of these three forms. It can be in any form but it will be made up of atoms and molecules of different degrees of tightness in their package.
They have a specific mass and take up some space in the surrounding. They have certain temperature and also have individual melting, boiling and freezing point.
Learning outcomes- students will be able to.... 1) define change of state of substances. 2) Differentiate between solids, liquids and gases on the basis of shape and volume 3)Explain the effect of heat on the state of substances. 4) Give description of thermometer. 5) Define boiling
Previous knowledge -previous knowledge can be written as. the students are aware about state of a substance changes if it is heated or cooled. Every substances in our surroundings is found in either the solid, liquid and gaseous state.
closure- the teacher will summarise the content by consolidating the main points
Today we have learnt about the three states of matter-solids, liquids and gases. We have studied their characteristics. We also studied about how heat affects the state change. We studied about thermometer and temperature. We learnt what boiling is.
Evaluate the students by asking questions like 1-Why does water take the shape of its container? 2- how do we know the objects are solid ,liquid, gas on the basis of observation of their properties.?
We can also ask students to one activity at home as- take one thermometer and dip it in cold water and leukwarm water and then observe the rise and fall of temperature in thermometer.
Lets take 7th std ssc board topic. Shall we?
ReplyDeleteWhat's the topic?
DeleteIf you all are having 6th std textbook then we can take that
ReplyDeletefirst lets explore the textbook then decide which topic we want.
ReplyDeletelet us discuss whatever topics we think are good
ReplyDeletenatural resources or disaster management?
ReplyDeleteor we can take "Substances in the surroundings- their state and properties"
ReplyDeletelets take this because this can be useful during our internship
DeleteNatural resources is good .
ReplyDeletethis topic will be taught now only in schools we won't be able to use it during internship
DeleteSsc board and cbse board books are available online we can have a look on more topics
ReplyDeleteWe can also take the topic acid bases and salts.
ReplyDeletefrom which standard?
DeleteSo lets take substances and their properties- 5th chap of 6th std ssc board. If everyone agrees please say yes. or else suggest some other topic.
ReplyDeleteEveryone please say your views so that we can discuss further
ReplyDeletecorrect
DeleteSubstances in the surrounding........Topic is good, chapter is very well explained and activities given are also well elaborated..lets start with it...
ReplyDeleterightly said
DeleteIf Seema is agree then we can continue...
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteI think we should take the part till boiling. what do you all think?
ReplyDeletesufficient
DeleteYes, that's right jayanti.
DeleteThen let's start to decide quickly
ReplyDeleteFor facts is this okay? - When a substance changes from one state to another the process is called change of state of the substance. terms-Thermometer, temperature, boiling.
ReplyDeleteTheme can be- Interconversion of states of matter.
ReplyDeleteConcept- Change of state of substances, Effect of heat on change in state, Thermometer and temperature, boiling.

seema write some terms and definitions on the chalkboard coloumns
ReplyDeleteok

ReplyDeleteDraw some pictures of solid liquid and gases. can also be given as home work
ReplyDeleteWe may include meaning of state of matter and types of matter under teaching points.
